How to season your Flaming Arc Plancha!

This guide should help you complete the seasoning process for your Plancha grill!

Firstly… Thank you for purchasing one of our planchas. We hope it…. Meats…. your expectations.

Before you cook up a feast on this beast, you will need to prepare your brand new plancha by seasoning it before using it to cook on.

Whilst any cooking oil will work to season your plancha, only one gives the best result, so ideally you will use 100% Flaxseed oil and Kitchen Roll.

*Do not use spray on oils since they often contain additives giving bad results*

Then just follow these simple steps:

*Please clean the plancha grill with hot water and washing up liquid after unpackaging it - we try to send it perfectly clean; however due to the environment and manufacturing process some residual traces may be present*

  1. Pre heat your BBQ Grill (Or oven if it'll fit!) to at least 260c ( or the highest temperature it can safely reach)

  2. Use a paper towel to completely cover every square inch of the plancha, using a table spoon of oil (apply more if needed). You want a very generous layer of oil.

  3. Wipe off the oil using a fresh paper towel. We know it sounds bizarre after step 2 to remove it all.. But you only want to be left with a extremely thin layer of oil over the whole of the plancha.

  4. Place the plancha inside your BBQ Grill or Oven. Crack open something tasty to drink and leave it to bake for 1 hour.

  5. Once 60 minutes have passed, get some heat proof gloves on and remove the plancha placing it somewhere safe off of the BBQ Grill or shut down / turn off the gas / oven and leave it to cool down enough for you to be able to handle the plancha (take care not to burn yourself).
    Top up your glass or open a fresh one and ponder how delicious your first bit of food cooked on this plancha will be!

  6. Go back to step one and work your way back to here safely, make sure you have a tasty drink to hand at all stages of this! If this is the second, 3rd, 4th or even 5th time you're reading this.. You may or may not be feeling the effects of those tasty drinks we suggested to have! You may be feeling peckish now after that hard work.. you could move onto step 7 if you are.. However you could repeat the steps multiple times to get a really strong great finish, two is generally adequate, five is excellent!...

  7. Remove the Plancha from the oven and admire your newly seasoned plancha. Pour another one and get your smash burgers on that beautiful grill
